In a bold stride toward public-centric policing, the Mira-Bhayander, Vasai-Virar (MBVV) Police Commissionerate marked a landmark moment on May 9 at Samvad Hall, Mumbai. The event, spearheaded by Commissioner Madhukar Pandey, celebrated a dual achievement—commendation for outstanding performance under the state’s 100-Day Action Plan and the return of seized property to its rightful owners.
Designed to modernize administrative systems and foster transparency, the 100-Day Action Plan was executed from January 7 to April 16, 2025. It focused on enhancing internal efficiency and reinforcing citizen trust in law enforcement. The MBVV Police emerged as the top performer in Maharashtra, scoring an impressive 84.57 points in an assessment carried out by the Quality Council of India (QCI), an autonomous national body that evaluates institutional standards.
During the monthly crime review meeting held as part of the event, Commissioner Pandey acknowledged the best-performing police stations. Mira Road and Kashimira Police Stations jointly secured the top position, followed by Vasai Police Station in second place and Mandvi Police Station in third. All three stations received certificates of appreciation for their efforts in driving the action plan forward.
A unique and heartfelt segment of the day was dedicated to reuniting victims with their recovered property. Valuables worth over ₹2.68 crore—confiscated and recovered during investigations—were returned to complainants from police stations under Zone 1. Commissioner Pandey personally handed over the items, drawing gratitude from recipients who lauded the speed and fairness of the restitution process.
In a significant milestone, all police stations and offices within Zone 1, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Prakash Gaikwad, were awarded ISO-SMART certification. This globally recognized accreditation reflects the Commissionerate's commitment to international best practices in policing, management, and public service. DCP Gaikwad, alongside Assistant Commissioners, Senior Inspectors, and administrative staff, was honoured for this achievement.
Further underlining the culture of accountability and performance, commendation certificates were distributed to officers and staff who played a vital role in implementing the 100-Day Action Plan. These recognitions not only highlighted their individual contributions but also underscored a department-wide ethos of reform and citizen engagement.
