The police have received the verification report of the suspect's face in the CCTV and the face of the arrested accused in the attack on actor Saif Ali Khan. According to the forensic report, the photo of the accused and the face of the person in the CCTV are of the same person, as per the report by Loksatta. Therefore, the police have got strong evidence against the accused Bangladeshi citizen Mohammad Shariful Islam (30) in this case.


On January 16, the accused climbed the stairs in the building and entered the house through the toilet window of Saif's younger son Jahangir's room. Ariama Phillips aka Lima Jahangir, a female nurse working at Saif Ali Khan's house, rushed to pick up the boy after seeing the stranger enter the house. At that time the accused attacked her with a knife. Meanwhile Saif Ali Khan and Kareena both reached there. The assailant attacked Saif with a knife. The accused was arrested on January 19 from the labour camp area of Thane.

The accused was filmed on the day of the attack on the CCTV in Saif's building. In this case, it was alleged that there was a difference between the face of the accused and the face of the arrested accused. Therefore, the police decided to conduct a face recognition test of the accused with the help of a forensic laboratory. Under that, the face of the accused in the CCTV and the photograph of the arrested accused were verified with the help of technology. It became clear that both the persons were one and the same. When senior officials were asked about this, they confirmed this report. Currently, the accused is in judicial custody.
