Mumbaikars woke up to a cloudy morning on Wednesday, May 5, as several parts of the city received its first pre-monsoon showers of the season around 7 am.
This has brought some relief to residents from the scorching heat and humidity.
It is pertinent to note that this development came days after the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its forecast predicated these showers around June 7.
Many parts of the city like Dadar, Kandivali, Magathane, Oshiwara, Wadala, Ghatkopar, Kurla witnessed showers in the range of 4 mm to 26 mm between 7 am and 8 am, a civic official said. Meanwhile, some parts of central and south Mumbai also received light rain.
Besides, a heavy rain warning has being issued for Dadar & adjoining areas, as per an independent weather forecast channel.

As per officials, the road traffic and trains services were running normal in the city without any disruptions.
Monsoon usually arrives in Mumbai in the second week of June.
