In a coordinated operation on Saturday, Mumbai Police arrested 16 Bangladeshi intruders from Navi Mumbai, Mankhurd, Mumbra, and Darukhana. Among the arrested individuals were 9 women and 7 men. The operation was led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Circle 1) Dr. Pravin Mundhe, who had formed 14 police teams to investigate a case registered at Dongri Police Station.
The investigation began after a case was filed against two Bangladeshi nationals at Dongri Police Station. Further inquiries revealed that a significant number of Bangladeshi intruders were residing illegally in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane. Acting on this information, 16 individuals were arrested from Mankhurd, Washinaka, Kalamboli, Panvel, Kopar Khairane, Kalyan, Mumbra, and Darukhana.

Authorities have been cracking down on illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, with previous arrests leading to the seizure of fake documents. Investigations revealed that some of these intruders had even voted in the Lok Sabha elections using forged documents. Additionally, many had falsified documents to claim Indian citizenship. The Mumbai Police and other law enforcement agencies continue their efforts to identify and take action against illegal residents.
